Info
If it’s hard to pin down Danny Elfman, it’s because he’s spent decades moving between pop culture and darker, more twisted orchestral worlds. First known as the frontman and main writer of Oingo Boingo, he helped shape a nervy mix of rock, ska and new wave on the late-70s California scene, with that slightly off-kilter sense of melody that never really left.
From the mid-80s on, Elfman became one of the defining composers for film and TV, building a signature sound where sharp rhythms and angular themes meet lush orchestration and a taste for the fantastic. His long-running collaborations and iconic scores have marked everything from Batman and Edward Scissorhands to Men in Black, Spider-Man and the theme from The Simpsons, while his solo work keeps a foot in rawer, more direct songwriting. On September 10, 2026, at History in Toronto, he brings that whole universe to the stage, somewhere between concert music, cinema memories and the bite of his earlier band years.
