Ezra Collective bring their London-bred jazz fusion to O2 Academy Brixton in London on 18 March 2027. Formed via the Tomorrow’s Warriors community, the quintet is built around drummer Femi Koleoso, bassist TJ Koleoso, keys player Joe Armon-Jones, trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi and saxophonist James Mollison, moving as one unit: tight interplay, fast shifts, and grooves that don’t sit still.
Their sound pulls contemporary jazz into conversation with afrobeat, hip-hop, soul, dub, reggae and Caribbean roots, with writing that swings between pure instrumental lift-off and more open, voice-friendly formats. From early EPs like Chapter 7 and Juan Pablo: The Philosopher to albums such as You Can’t Steal My Joy and Where I’m Meant to Be, they’ve kept widening the frame without losing the pocket. Recent releases like Dance, No One’s Watching keep that momentum, and the Mercury Prize win in 2023 sealed their place in the current UK jazz surge.
