Old Mervs are Dave (vocals, guitar) and Henry (drums, backing vocals), two childhood friends from Kojonup, a small rural town in Western Australia. As a duo, they craft direct and melodic indie rock, blending alternative rock with surf-tinged touches, featuring clean guitars, hooks that latch on quickly, and a taut, high-energy edge.
After catching attention via Triple J Unearthed and a couple of EPs, they stepped up with their self-titled debut album, recorded with producer Chris Collins. Driven by tracks such as 'Parched', 'What You’ve Lost', 'Forget It', 'Everyone Will See It' or 'Don’t Go', the record established them as one of the acts to watch on the current Australian scene, and carried them well beyond Perth, on sold-out tours and festival appearances.
On 1 August 2026, Old Mervs will play Bootleg Social in Blackpool for a date that extends this rise, with new material announced along the way and that straightforward, tight, no-nonsense live vibe.
