Grandmas House
Originally from Bristol, Grandmas House moves between post-punk, alternative rock and grunge. The quartet builds a sound that is at once melodic and abrasive, carried by tense guitars, a powerful bass and vocal harmonies that alternate between tension and softness. Formed by Yasmin Berndt and Poppy Dodgson, later joined by Zoë Zinsmeister and Polly Jessett, the group became known thanks to intense live shows before recording their first album Baby You’re A Winner with producer Ali Chant. The songs explore love, grief, loneliness, chronic illnesses, and inequalities in the music industry, all while maintaining raw energy and memorable choruses. Between sharp riffs and more contemplative moments, Grandmas House coexists with power and emotion.
