Crash Test Dummies celebrate more than 35 years of career with a concert in Manchester, at Band on the Wall, on October 10, 2026. Formed in Winnipeg in the mid-1980s, the band has built itself around Brad Roberts's baritone voice, Ellen Reid's keyboards and harmonies, with narrative songwriting often threaded with irony.
Between folk-rock, pop and alternative rock, Crash Test Dummies marked the 1990s with songs at a relaxed tempo, carefully crafted acoustic arrangements, and choruses that stay with you, before allowing themselves more electric and experimental turns. On stage, the idea is not to replay a museum: their repertoire moves between classics and newer tracks, carried by that sense of storytelling and those crafted backing vocals that are their signature. An evening to reconnect with a band set apart, faithful to its offbeat tone and to its subtle melancholy.
