On December 3, 2026 Romare will perform at Melkweg in Amsterdam. Behind that name lies the British producer and DJ Archie Fairhurst, who since the early 2010s has treated electronic music as a collage: bits of jazz, blues and soul that he cuts, shifts, and reassembles into slow house, broken beat and downtempo with a clear groove. Romare broke through with releases on Black Acre, including Meditations on Afrocentrism and Love Songs: Part One, where his sampling work and rhythmic editing are immediately central. Later, via Ninja Tune, he broadened that palette on Projections and Love Songs: Part Two, and on Home the project gained more space for live instrumentation and melody, without losing sight of the dancefloor. In live performance, he moves between a DJ set and an electronic live setup: recognizable motifs from his tracks, built flexibly for club energy, with that typical blend of warm sources and tight contemporary textures.
