Joy Anonymous, the London duo formed by Henry Counsell and Louis Curran, arrives in Dublin for a live show conceived as a proper club session, with no distance between performers and audience. Nourished by house, UK garage, breakbeat, and pop, they have developed a very direct way of playing, inherited from their improvised outdoor performances on the South Bank at the start of the 2020s: bass-heavy rhythms that keep moving, collective builds, sung hooks that grab you along the way, and that taste for risk that keeps the music alive.
Their writing glides between rhythmic tension and more restrained moments, with particular attention paid to the energy of the British dancefloor as well as to a more front-facing form of emotion. After appearances alongside Fred again.., Skrillex, The Blessed Madonna, or Eliza Rose, Joy Anonymous continues to refine this blend, notably on Cult Classics (2023), where nocturnal euphoria intersects with a more vocal house and textures typically associated with London.
