On April 4, 2027, Alexandra Kay will take the stage at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The singer from Waterloo, Illinois, makes country that leans on Nashville, with clear melodies and lyrics that stay close to her own life. She broke through online with covers of 1990s country songs, an influence you can still hear in her sense for refrains and her storytelling: direct, down-to-earth, and no-nonsense.
Since the mid-2010s, Kay has steadily built her career, first as an independent artist and from 2025 with Wheelhouse Records. In November 2022 she made her Grand Ole Opry debut. With her first studio album All I've Ever Known (2023) she sharply defined that personal style; on Second Wind (2025) she continues that line with songs centered on relatable moments and a voice that always takes the lead. Collaborations as well, such as with Jelly Roll on 'Leave the Light On' and with Dallas Smith on 'How Do You Miss Me,' also fit within that same framework: modern country with an open mind.
