Dead Poet Society lands on February 4, 2027 at the O2 Institute Birmingham with their edgy alt-rock, straddling grunge, hard rock, and noisy textures. Formed in Boston around Jack Underkofler, Jack Collins, Will Goodroad, and Dylan Brenner, the band first cut its teeth with a string of EPs before stepping up with the album -!- in 2021. What defines their signature is evident here: heavy, taut riffs, a tight rhythm section, and vocal lines that hook without smoothing the sound.
Since then, based in Los Angeles, Dead Poet Society have broadened their scope without losing impact. Fission (2024) pushes the contrasts further, opens up the arrangements, while keeping that raw effectiveness that works especially well on stage. Expect a direct, precise live set built for the stage, where the energy of the guitars and the hooks in the choruses bounce off each other to the point of saturation, without tipping into metal.
