On August 6, 2026 in Hamburg, at the Knust, Nightmares on Wax is set to roll out a DJ set conceived as a long-form journey. Behind this name is George Evelyn, a Leeds-born figure from the late 80s, first spotted in the British bleep scene before steering his project toward a more supple and inhabited electronic sound. In clubs as on records, his playground remains the same: slowed hip-hop rhythms, dub basslines that carry the track, soulful and funky textures, and that taste for well-placed sampling that lets the groove breathe. Milestones such as Smokers Delight, Carboot Soul or In a Space Outta Sound have established this downtempo signature between soundsystem, trip-hop and chillout, without chasing an immediate effect.
