If you’re in the mood for driving Ska-Punk in German, Sondaschule delivers exactly the right mix of fast punk drive, offbeat rhythms, and brass that push everything forward. The band was founded in 1999 in the Ruhr area, between Mülheim an der Ruhr and Oberhausen, and they initially established themselves with direct punk rock, before gradually pulling the ska element more strongly into the sound. Lyrically, it’s often about everyday life with a quirky perspective, ironic punchlines, broken love stories, and the typical nights that get a little too long. Over the years, around Tim Kleinrensing and Mirko Klautmann, a discography has emerged that expands the balance between party mode and melody, without taking the pressure off: from Klasse 1A to Rambazamba and Volle Kanne to Unbesiegbar and Wir bleiben wach. After the death of guitarist Daniel Junker, Phillip Pfaff joined the band permanently. On December 20, 2026, Sondaschule will perform at the Kulturfabrik Kofmehl in Solothurn.
