On 16 April 2027, Hindley Street Country Club arrives at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall with its reputation‑defining formula: a collective of studio musicians gathered around bassist and producer Constantine Delo, and a distinctive way of reinterpreting the great pop, rock, soul and funk classics in a live‑in‑studio setting. Since 2017, HSCC has treated its covers as performances captured live, with a solid pop‑soul rhythm section in place, melodic guitars, keyboards that fill out the texture, and sometimes brass to thicken the groove. The project’s hallmark is also the regular rotation of invited vocalists, which changes the colour of a track from one to the next without breaking the overall coherence. On stage, the collective moves between tracks from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and more recent material, alternating faithful adherence to the original structures with light rearrangements, always in a direct, precise approach tailored for group playing.
