If you really need a reason to step out on 30 October 2026, Dizzee Rascal live at O2 Academy Leeds is a solid one. Born and raised in Bow, East London, he came up through pirate radio culture, first as a drum’n’bass DJ, then as an MC and producer who helped shape the early grime sound with Roll Deep. His flow is sharp, fast, and wired into beats that pull from UK garage, bassline and gritty British hip-hop.
He broke through with “I Luv U” and set the tone with Boy in da Corner, the 2003 debut that made grime impossible to ignore and earned him the Mercury Prize. From there, he kept pushing: Showtime and Maths + English expanded the palette, while later records like Tongue n’ Cheek leaned into pop and dance without fully losing that London edge. More recently, he’s swung back toward a grime-forward energy on projects like Raskit, E3 AF and Don’t Take It Personal, proof he still knows how to lock into the bass and move a room.
