Info
DHP presents Grandmas House. Grandmas House is a rock band formed in Bristol, uniting Yasmin Berndt, Poppy Dodgson, Zoë Zinsmeister and Polly around a taut rock sound that crosses post-punk, grunge and noise rock. The band took shape when Yasmin, Poppy and Zoë met at university, with the desire to compose music that is direct, abrasive and melodic, carried by a collective energy more than virtuosity. Grandmas House initially made a mark on the British local scene thanks to a handful of tracks and performances where sharp riffs, heavy bass, upfront drums and often-shared vocals mingle, with Yasmin's deep, gravelly voice anchoring the sound. Their aesthetics draw from punk and indie rock while maintaining a taste for memorable refrains, tension shifts and a darkness threaded with irony. As their releases progressed, Grandmas House established a tighter, more compact sound, between post-punk urgency and grunge heft. The EP Anything For You, released in 2025, extends this direction with five tracks built around personal themes such as grief, heartbreak or illness, in concise and punchy writing that remains central to the band's identity.
