Dea Matrona

Dea Matrona play The Academy in Dublin on 28 November 2026. Formed in Belfast in 2018 by founding duo Orlaith Forsythe and Mollie McGinn, later joined by Mamie McGinn, the trio built its audience step by step: street-shot videos, songs released independently, then a debut album, For Your Sins, in 2024 that gathered the path they had traced so far. Since then, they’ve taken the road across the UK, Ireland and Europe, keeping a direct line with listeners through steady releases and live sessions.

On stage, Dea Matrona stick to what defines them: a writing-first approach, close-knit interplay and vocals up front, with a clear link between the studio cuts and how the songs live in concert. The Dublin set draws from For Your Sins and more recent tracks, letting riffs, harmonies and rhythmic shifts do the talking rather than any fixed label. No frills, just three musicians locking in and shaping their material in real time. It’s a snapshot of where the band stands now, rooted in the road and focused on the songs.
