The Rumjacks

On 24 July 2026, The Rumjacks land at Beky Bay in Bellaria-Igea Marina, Italy. Formed in Sydney in 2008 by bassist Johnny McKelvey and Scottish-born singer Frankie McLaughlin, the band shaped a Celtic punk blend where punk rock drive meets folk tunes drawn from Irish and Scottish traditions, with a hint of pub singalong spirit. Their catalogue — from Gangs of New Holland to Sober & Godless and Sleepin’ Rough — swings between rapid-fire blasts, acoustic ballads and big choruses built for the crowd.

A turning point came in 2020 with the arrival of American vocalist Mike Rivkees, who took the lead on Hestia (2021) and pushed the writing into a fresh phase without losing the band’s backbone. The lyrics track everyday life, migration routes, social tension and late-night encounters, carried by electric riffs, gang vocals and acoustic textures. On stage, The Rumjacks move from clenched punk energy to folk-tinged breathers in one flow, tightening the room around melodies made to be sung together.
