Saga

Canadian progressive rock band Saga lands in Copenhagen on 25 April 2027 at AB&B - Amager Bio. Formed in 1977 around Michael Sadler, brothers Jim and Ian Crichton and drummer Steve Negus, the group forged a melodic, keyboard-forward sound that blends intricate arrangements with concise, direct hooks. With Jim Gilmour’s arrival on keys and vocals, the band solidified a signature balance of agile guitars, synth lines and shifting structures that found an early and lasting audience in Europe. Albums like Worlds Apart and Heads or Tales marked their most visible phase in the early 80s, followed by evolutions on Behaviour, the concept-driven Generation 13, then House of Cards, Trust, 20/20 and Sagacity. Saga’s story also runs through line-up changes, including Sadler’s brief departure in the late 2000s and return in 2011, before resuming activity after a farewell run closed in 2018. On stage, the group draws from across that catalogue, moving between tight, guitar-led momentum and expansive, synth-steered passages, with vocals carrying the narrative thread that has anchored their music since the start.
