Soul Asylum brings its Minneapolis-bred alt rock to The Park Theatre in Winnipeg on August 27, 2026. Still led by Dave Pirner, the band folds punk bite, power-pop hooks and a touch of country twang into songs that marked the 90s, from Runaway Train to Somebody to Shove and Misery. On stage, that mix stays raw and melodic, road-tested over decades. Expect a set that moves between the rattle of their early years and newer material from records like Hurry Up and Wait and Slowly but Shirley, with riffs that punch and choruses built to carry.
Los Angeles outfit The Props opens with a sharp, melodic sound pulling from new wave, post-punk and modern guitar rock. Formed in late 2023 by Nick Ruiz, Dawson Henry, Sam Edelman, Jersey Sullivan and Erik Brauer, they’ve been building on early tracks like Echoes and Get Off. Their 2026 debut Arrow EP, produced by Grammy winner Carlos de la Garza, frames a young band finding its stride and bringing the spark to kick off the night.
