Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

On September 27, 2026 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan brings a repertoire shaped by decades between qawwali, ghazal, Sufi poetry and film songs. Trained from childhood within the Fateh Ali Khan family of qawwals in Faisalabad, and nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, he carries a tradition where voice leads the charge: melismatic lines, call-and-response energy and space for improvisation grounded in Hindustani classical technique.

Since the late 1990s, Rahat has balanced spiritual suites and intimate ghazals with a parallel journey in cinema. His Hindi playback debut, Mann Ki Lagan in Paap (2003), opened a flow of songs across Indian and Pakistani productions, while his non-film path includes the album Back 2 Love (2014) and sessions with Coke Studio Pakistan. On stage, that mix comes together in fluid sets that move from devotional intensity to lyric romance, linking poetry and pulse without losing clarity or warmth.
