Grandmaster Flash « 4 Elements Tour »

Grandmaster Flash, born and raised in the South Bronx, lands in Birkenhead for the first time with his 4 Elements Tour. On 24 October 2026 at Future Yard, the pioneer of DJing revisits the roots of hip hop through the techniques and records that shaped it.

In the early 1970s, he turned the turntable into a musical instrument, placing his fingers on the vinyl to perfect beat looping and precision cuts. From his Quik Mix Theory to the wafer, now known as the slipmat, his approach to breakbeats and continuous mix laid foundations that many DJs still follow. On stage today, Flash is as much a musician as a narrator: a historian and storyteller who connects the dots between block‑party funk, early electro and the first waves of rap.
