Info

The Afghan Whigs are celebrating 40 years of their career and return to Paris on September 27, 2026, at the Trabendo. Carried by Greg Dulli’s voice and songwriting, the band has unveiled “Jungle Roux,” a track from their tenth album, Soft Control, due August 21, 2026. On stage, their blend of alternative rock, soul and R&B swells between taut guitars and basslines with a dark groove, threaded by the melodic tension that runs through their repertoire. The opening act will be Ed Harcourt.

Since reforming in 2012, The Afghan Whigs have played stages across Europe and North America and released a recent trilogy that has consolidated their trajectory: Do to the Beast (2014), In Spades (2017) and How Do You Burn? (2022). Heirs to Gentlemen (1993), Black Love (1996) and 1965 (1998), they revisit in concert several decades’ worth of material, from shadowy ballads to electrifying charges. This date at the Trabendo promises a preview of Soft Control alongside signature tracks, in the continuity of a sound that is both direct and deeply felt.
