Way Dynamic

Way Dynamic, the solo venture of Melbourne songwriter Dylan Young, brings his third album Massive Shoe to Hare & Hounds in Birmingham on 24 August 2026. Produced and largely played by Young, the record threads minimalist folk-pop with art rock and a hint of baroque pop. Known for work with Cool Sounds and Good Morning, and stints on drums with Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra, Young writes close-to-the-mic songs that let clear guitars, airy keys and unhurried tempos do the talking. The mood shifts between dry humour and unguarded feeling, from miscommunications to oddball trips that wander from outer space to the Seine. On stage, these intimate sketches open up with a band dynamic, trading hushed passages for more assertive swells. Along the way, the project has quietly caught ears across scenes, including Katie Crutchfield and Elton John.

Liam Parsons (support) opens the night with the early steps of a new solo project. Splitting time between Melbourne and London and known from Good Morning, Parsons leans into longer, slightly noisier songs that stretch his melodic instincts toward rougher edges.
