Worakls & Friends ADE

There are artists who make tracks for the dancefloor. Others build an entire world around them. Worakls belongs to that second category. Long before melodic techno became a formula, Kevin Rodrigues approached his electronics as a composer. Raised on classical piano from the age of three and shaped by conservatory training, he writes pieces that focus on harmony, motion and orchestration, not on immediate impact. You hear it in his sound design: strings stacking over a rolling low end, arpeggios that slowly evolve without losing their momentum. His tracks move like film scores translated into club music and helped, in the early 2010s, to shape a European melodic current where progressive storytelling, classical influences, live instruments and hypnotic techno sequencing meet.

What sets him apart is that the music feels composed, not assembled. Transitions, chordal choices and dynamics breathe years of music theory. Even in the heaviest passages there is space and breath; the tension lies in the progression, not in a sprint to a climax. From this grew the Worakls Orchestra, in which his electronic pieces are reworked for full ensembles and performed live. On Thursday 22 October 2026 that approach will converge in a single space: WestWeelde in Amsterdam, during ADE, for Worakls & friends.
