On August 1, 2026, DJ Tennis, aka Manfredi Romano, is at Hangaren in Copenhagen. Founder and A&R of Life and Death, Romano started out tour-managing punk bands and organizing left-field parties in Italy before launching DAZE, the country’s first booking agency focused on electronic music. In 2010 he shaped these threads into DJ Tennis, a project defined by measured tempos, textured sound design and a clear sense of mood.
In the booth he connects house, techno and disco with an ear for flow and detail, building sets that stay close and human even in wide spaces. In the studio he channels a background linked to post-rock, folding traces of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise and Fugazi into intricate synth work. His discography spans Kompakt, Running Back, !K7 and his own Life and Death, alongside remixes for Diplo, Boys Noize, Loco Dice, WhoMadeWho and Acid Pauli.
