Adèle Castillon

Adèle Castillon is forging her path as a solo artist, somewhere between French pop and electronic pulses. First revealed with Videoclub and its synth-driven romanticism steeped in ’80s echoes, she has shifted toward a more direct and intimate style of songwriting. Her lyrics unflinchingly tell of first breakups, emotional dependency and the dizzying feelings that accompany them, carried by a clear voice and melodies that settle in quickly. In the studio she found in Surkin a playful collaborator who beefs up the arrangements—between synth pads, punchy basslines and a homemade attention to detail—for a crisp, direct sound.

On stage, Adèle presents this debut album like an open notebook, alternating gripping tempos and more suspended moments. You can hear Videoclub’s legacy without overt nostalgia, more as a starting point toward francophone pop firmly rooted in its time. Polished production, immediate choruses, simple energy and a clear-eyed perspective make up a set that places songwriting at the center while leaving room for the machines.
