Devin Townsend brings his Metamorphosis – Solo Tour 2026 to The Ambassador Theatre, Upper O’Connell Street, Dublin 1, on 29 August 2026.

A Canadian multi-instrumentalist and producer from Vancouver, Townsend has forged a distinctive path since the 1990s across extreme metal, progressive rock, ambient and hard rock. First noticed alongside Steve Vai, he made his name with Strapping Young Lad before branching out into numerous projects and aliases — from the Devin Townsend Band to the Devin Townsend Project — and ultimately pursuing a more personal solo trajectory.

On stage in solo format, Townsend revisits and rearranges his repertoire in his own way, alternating dense sonic layers with more stripped-down passages. His voice moves effortlessly from screams to clean singing, while guitars, electronic textures and loops highlight songs drawn from different periods, from Ocean Machine and Terria to Empath, Lightwork and PowerNerd. Metamorphosis promises a journey through these successive transformations, where metal tension meets more atmospheric moods and progressive structures. It’s an occasion that embraces the full breadth of his songwriting — an intimate, one-on-one immersion in his world.
