Info
Nectar Woode brings her intimate blend of neo-soul, folk, jazz and gospel to The Deaf Institute in Manchester on 13 October 2026. Raised in Milton Keynes in a Ghanaian–British family, she writes from lived experience, weaving identity, everyday moments and quiet introspection into songs carried by a nuanced voice and clear, uncluttered melodies. Her music sits at the crossroads of the UK soul scene and acoustic songwriting, with a focus on space, groove and harmony.
Her early tracks have circulated through independent soul and jazz networks across the UK, leading her to stages where proximity with the audience matters as much as the sound. Beyond her own releases, she hosts a monthly Women in Jazz show on Soho Radio, giving airtime to underrepresented artists, and takes part in cultural projects that connect performance with dialogue.
On stage in Manchester, she leans into stripped-back arrangements and warm rhythmic contours, moving between reflective ballads and pieces that unfold patiently, always guided by storytelling. A set shaped for listeners who pay attention to detail, feel and craft.
