Nu Genea

Nu Genea land in London with their blend of disco, funk, boogie and Neapolitan groove, playing their first London live band show in over three years at Roundhouse on 19 September 2026. On stage, the duo expand into a full ensemble where basslines glide, percussion locks into rolling patterns and vintage keyboards color melodies sung in Italian and Neapolitan. The set draws from across their catalog, from Nuova Napoli to Bar Mediterraneo, reshaped for a room that balances concert focus and dancefloor drive.

Formed in Naples by Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina, first known as Nu Guinea before becoming Nu Genea, the project grew out of house and minimal into more organic songwriting. Their path has included a collaboration with Tony Allen on The Tony Allen Experiments, the single Marechià with Célia Kameni, and ongoing archival work around the Napoli Segreta compilations. Live, that history folds into an expanded format built on tight rhythm, fluid keys and distinctive vocal lines, a sound they’ve carried across Europe and now bring back to London.
