Girls in Airports is a Danish ensemble known for its live performances. Their instrumental sound moves between jazz, ambient and folk traditions, shaped by a long-term collective practice that values curiosity, cultural openness and the slow craft of making music together. At the core of the group is a distinctive instrumentation: vintage keys, saxophone and a wide spectrum of global percussion. The warmth of Mathias Holm’s Wurlitzer, shaped through analogue pedals, blends with Victor Dybbroe’s evolving palette of textures and rhythms, creating a ground for the music. Over this, the saxophone voice and compositions of Martin Stender lean toward a spiritual sound — at times serene and spacious, at others improvisational.
