Elder Island

Elder Island bring their hybrid indie and electronic craft to Button Factory, Dublin, on 23 October 2026. Formed in Bristol, the trio of Katy Sargent, Luke Thornton and David Havard shape songs from supple rhythms, prominent basslines and airy textures, keeping Sargent’s voice at the centre. On stage, they build by layers and loops, stretching motifs until the groove settles in, drifting from downtempo shades to lean pulses with a subtle funk tint.

From early EPs to The Omnitone Collection (2019) and Swimming Static (2020), their writing has balanced song form, groove and enveloping atmospheres. The live set draws across that catalogue while leaning into the rhythmic spontaneity and melodic openness that have marked their recent evolution. The tone stays nocturnal and detailed: arrangements grow patiently, bass and percussion carry the room, and voice and synth-guitar lines sketch contours rather than overwhelm. Between concert energy and a club-informed flow, Elder Island’s performance focuses on interplay and momentum, letting each layer find its place across the night.
