Info

Pokey LaFarge brings his restless American songbook to The Concert Hall in Toronto on September 18, 2026. Born Andrew Heissler in Illinois and long based in St. Louis, he writes at the crossroads of folk storytelling, 20s–30s jazz, country blues and western swing, drawing on a tradition of itinerant musicians while keeping arrangements light on their feet. He first turned heads with Riverboat Soul and Middle of Everywhere alongside The South City Three, then widened the frame with his self-titled album and the more electric colors of Something in the Water and Manic Revelations.

Since Rock Bottom Rhapsody and In the Blossom of Their Shade, his palette folds in pop, R&B and Latin accents, a path sharpened on Rhumba Country (2024). On stage, that blend lands in tight, groove-led arrangements, close harmonies and a vocal delivery built for narrative detail. The set moves across his catalog with nimble rhythm shifts, from front-porch swing to rumba-tinged country, always anchored by the acoustic heartbeat that runs through his writing.
