LSD and the Search for God

LSD and the Search for God bring their San Francisco shoegaze to Scala, London, on 14 October 2026. Since 2005 the band has sketched hazy pop melodies inside swells of feedback, droning overtones and layered, male–female harmonies. Their self-titled 2007 EP became a touchstone of the late‑2000s revival, with Starting Over distilling their balance of hushed intimacy and saturated guitars. Heaven Is a Place in 2016 pushed the formula further, sharpening the hooks while keeping the dense textures and spaced-out drift.

On stage the group favours immersion over flash. Guitars smear into thick clouds, rhythms stay steady and hypnotic, and voices melt into the mix, trading clarity for temperature and mood. Expect long arcs that move from soft shimmer to full wall-of-sound, where melody peeks through the noise and then disappears again. It is a set built for volume, for losing focus and then catching it on a riff or a refrain, and for revisiting the tracks that made their name alongside newer material.
