Mammal Hands play Arts Club, Liverpool, on 1 October 2026. Part of a new wave of boundary-defying UK instrumental artists, the trio fold jazz, contemporary classical and electronica into folk-tinged, minimalist patterns. Across five albums they have shaped a sound built on hypnotic piano figures, melodic sax lines and cyclical grooves, balancing warmth and momentum.
With Circadia, released in 2026 on the ACT label and introducing long-time friend Rob Turner (ex GoGo Penguin) on drums, the group leans further into a beat-led approach: pulse-driven, rhythmically alive, and tuned to ideas of cycles and renewal. On stage, they move between meditative space and driving sections, letting textures thicken and unwind while the drums bring an electronica-inspired edge. Post-rock energy sits alongside folk sensitivity, and the pieces flow as a continuous arc, music that connects without needing words.
