Three voices of Finnish pop-rock share the stage at Hybridiarena Hype in Espoo on 16 October 2026: Maija Vilkkumaa, Jonna Tervomaa and Knipi. Together, they draw a line between sharp songwriting and melodic guitars, each bringing a distinct tone while keeping the lyrics front and center.

Helsinki-born Maija Vilkkumaa is a key figure of suomirock. First heard in the early 1990s with Tarharyhmä, she went solo at the end of the decade and built a catalogue sung in Finnish where pop hooks meet electric edges and keyboards. From Pitkä ihana leikki to Ei, Se ei olekaan niin, Superpallo and 1973, her songs orbit everyday stories, relationships and social frictions, carried by concise refrains and a sense of narrative that sticks.

Facing her, Jonna Tervomaa brings a more intimate pop sensibility, balancing clarity of melody and reflective lyrics. Knipi completes the lineup with a songwriter’s precision, favoring clean lines and subtle atmospheres. On stage, the trio sketches a panorama of Finnish songwriting: one night moving from crisp rock currents to hushed pop, with arrangements that leave space for words to resonate.
