John Craigie

John Craigie brings his intimate, story-led folk to Stereo in Glasgow on 12 October 2026. Los Angeles-born and shaped by the Santa Cruz scene, he moved from early psych detours with Pond Rock to a lean, acoustic writing that sits between Americana and the art of the tale. On stage he keeps it close-up: guitar and harmonica, unadorned melodies, and spoken interludes with a dry edge that extend the songs without tipping into stand-up.

Across more than a decade of records — from Montana Tale and October Is the Kindest Month to No Rain, No Rose, Asterisk The Universe, Mermaid Salt and his 2024 release Pagan Church — he has refined a way of telling stories that lands best in the room. His live documents Capricorn in Retrograde… Just Kidding… Live in Portland and Opening for Steinbeck sketch the tone of the night: a thread of road stories, a few side glances, and choruses that linger.
