Info
On 1 March 2027 at Ulster Hall, Belfast, Editors bring a set that spans two decades of shifts between post‑punk guitars and shadowy electronics. Formed in Birmingham around Tom Smith, Russell Leetch and Ed Lay, the band made its mark with the taut riffs and baritone pull of The Back Room and An End Has a Start, then pushed keys to the fore on In This Light and on This Evening. The departure of Chris Urbanowicz in 2012 opened a new chapter with Justin Lockey and Elliott Williams, steering the group toward atmospheric rock and dark pop on The Weight of Your Love, In Dream and Violence, followed by the Black Gold collection.
With Benjamin John Power joining in 2022, Editors folded denser synth textures and an industrial pulse into EBM, reshaping their catalogue on stage as much as in the studio. Live, Tom Smith’s baritone, the band’s tight rhythm section and a mesh of guitars and keys drive songs that move from guitar‑led urgency to widescreen electronics, linking early cuts to their latest work.
