Chance Peña

Info

East Texas-born singer-songwriter Chance Peña crafts songs that sit between pared-back folk and sensitive pop, carried by clear storytelling and a quiet sense of detail. A precocious musician, he signed at 17 with Secret Road Music Publishing and quickly drew attention with Up, Up & Away, heard in the film Five Feet Apart. His collaboration with John Legend on Conversations in the Dark earned a Grammy nomination and widened his reach without changing his understated approach.

On Ever-Shifting, Continual Blossoming, Peña leans into organic textures and immersive, unshowy arrangements. Its follow-up, When I Change My Mind I Don’t Mean It, written in near-solitude in a California cabin, strips things back further to leave space for voice, guitar and close-up lyrics. Regularly seen on US and European roads alongside The Lumineers and Tom Odell, he brings the same focus on melody and narrative to the stage.

Chance Peña plays O2 Institute Birmingham on 16 May 2026. Expect a set built around fingerpicked guitars, warm tones and songs that unfold with patience, drawing from his recent records as well as earlier favorites.
