Info
The Bluetones celebrate 30 years of their debut by taking Expecting To Fly on the road, performed in full. The tour stops at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton on 22 October 2026, an opportunity to revisit the record as a whole and hear it alongside tracks pulled from the rest of their catalogue.
Released in 1996, Expecting To Fly hit No.1 in the UK, briefly displacing Oasis’ What’s The Story (Morning Glory). Slight Return, the standout single, reached No.2, and the band followed with three Top 10 albums and a run of Top 40 singles that sketched their path from britpop origins toward a melodic indie sound.
Still together in their original line-up, Mark Morriss (vocals), Adam Devlin (guitar), Eds Chesters (drums) and Scott Morriss (bass) return with the crisp guitars, clean hooks and bittersweet tone that shaped the album. The set blends the record front to back with deeper cuts and familiar singles, played with the kind of easy chemistry that comes from years on stage together.
