Info
Ocean Colour Scene bring their britpop‑rooted, soul‑tinged rock to AO Arena, Manchester, on 28 November 2026, with The Enemy also on the bill.
Formed in Birmingham in 1989, Ocean Colour Scene moved from early baggy and indie leanings to a more direct strain of British rock fed by britpop, blues rock and a distinctly English soul touch. The mid‑90s marked a shift through close ties with Paul Weller and a tour with Oasis, leading into the run of albums that set their template: Moseley Shoals (1996), Marchin’ Already (1997) and One from the Modern (1999). The records that followed kept the formula lean and song‑driven, mixing mod heritage, discreet psychedelia and a pub‑rock energy that translates on stage.
The Enemy, formed in Coventry in 2006 by Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts, bring tight, punchy songs shaped by alternative and punk rock. Their tracks are short, tense and melodic, grounded in everyday city life and social observation. After early buzz and support slots with Oasis, Kasabian, Stereophonics and The Rolling Stones, the trio released four albums between 2007 and 2015, paused in 2016, then returned to live action from 2022. On stage, they sharpen things to a no‑frills indie set, urgent and melodic.
