Alison Moyet plays New Theatre, Cardiff, on 10 November 2026. From early 80s synth-pop with Yazoo to a solo path that threads soul, blues and electronics, she carries songs with a contralto timbre and arrangements that shift between machines and live instruments. The set draws on key moments: the concise writing of Alf and Raindancing, the rougher grain of Hoodoo and Essex, the reflective Hometime period, the orchestral palette of Voice, and the songwriter focus of The Turn. More recent releases The Minutes and Other, created with producer Guy Sigsworth, renew her electronic leanings in a pared-back frame. On stage, she revisits catalogue pieces alongside newer material, reshaping them without fuss and giving space to that low, resonant voice to lead the line.
