The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers land at Globe Theatre, Stockton-on-Tees on 24 October 2026. Fronted by twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, the Scottish duo started out acoustic before expanding to a full-band setup. Their sound blends folk rock, roots and pop with a lean punk edge, built around tight harmonies, direct lyrics and a distinctive Scottish accent that shapes the phrasing and feel of the songs.

On stage, they move easily between stripped-back bite and band-driven momentum, pulling from a catalogue that spans four decades. Early staples like Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Sunshine on Leith sit alongside cuts from Hit the Highway and the comeback of Persevere, through Born Innocent and Life with You, into Notes & Rhymes, Like Comedy, Angry Cyclist and their recent Dentures Out. The set balances brisk strummers and slower ballads, with stories of everyday life, wry observations and political undertones threading through the writing.

Expect a night centred on voices, guitars and unfussy arrangements, where singable refrains meet straight-ahead storytelling. A chance to hear the songs that stuck and the newer chapters from a group that keeps moving without losing its core.
