Info

Panchiko bring their gauzy indie rock, dream‑pop haze and lo‑fi grain to New Century, Manchester, on 28 October 2026. Formed in Nottingham in the late 90s by Owain Llewelyn, Andy Wright and John Still, the band first sketched its palette on ultra‑limited CD‑Rs like D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L (2000) and Kicking Cars (2001): saturated guitars, discreet electronics and a melancholy vocal line. After a long pause, those recordings resurfaced online, prompting reissues and a return to the stage.

In the 2020s, Panchiko toured across the UK, Europe and North America, playing early material alongside new songs. That renewal took shape on the 2023 album Failed at Math(s), which keeps the blurred guitar work and subtle synth textures while tightening structures for live performance.

On stage, the trio leans into contrasts: soft, shimmering layers set against rougher edges, a lo‑fi patina carried into a fuller mix. The set draws from the early EPs and recent tracks, moving from fragile pop sketches to more driving cuts, with a steady build and close dynamics.
