Info
On 26 September 2026, Marillion play The Glasshouse – International Centre for Music in Gateshead. Formed in late-70s Aylesbury, the British progressive rock band first made its mark with Fish on vocals and albums like Script for a Jester’s Tear, Fugazi and Misplaced Childhood, blending storytelling and expansive arrangements. The arrival of Steve Hogarth at the end of the 1980s steered the group toward a more introspective register, heard on Seasons End and Brave, mixing progressive roots with pop-tinged atmospheres and contemporary textures. With the steady lineup of Steve Rothery, Mark Kelly, Pete Trewavas, Ian Mosley and Hogarth, Marillion continues to craft long-form pieces and thematic suites. Records such as Marbles, F E A R and An Hour Before It’s Dark feed sets that move between landmarks and recent material, carried by layered guitars, luminous keyboards and a supple rhythm section. Early adopters of fan-funded projects, they’ve built a participatory approach that still shapes their tours.
Haunt the Woods join the bill in Gateshead, opening the night before Marillion take the stage.
