Billy Lockett

On 10 May 2026 at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh, Billy Lockett brings his piano-led songwriting to the foreground: a clear voice, candid lyrics and melodies at the crossroads of pop, folk and contemporary soul. Born in Northampton, he cut his teeth on London’s open mic circuit, shaping a repertoire of direct, intimate ballads that led to early BBC Radio 1 support and opening slots for Birdy, Lana Del Rey, KT Tunstall, Lewis Capaldi and Electric Light Orchestra. After a pause following the death of his father, he returned to writing and recording independently between Northampton and London, keeping his approach close to the song while widening the palette.

On stage, Lockett moves from stripped-back piano-and-voice to more expansive pop textures, with occasional electronic shades from his collaborations. The set taps into his EPs, singles and a solo piano project, alongside newer material, keeping the focus on melody, space and the grain of his voice.
