On 23 June 2026 at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, Elvis Costello takes the stage with The Imposters, joined by guitarist Charlie Sexton. Costello’s catalogue cuts across tense pub rock, new wave punch and detours into soul, country and chamber pop. Live, he folds these threads into a set built on crisp hooks, precise lyrics and close-knit interplay. With Steve Nieve on keys, Pete Thomas on drums and Davey Faragher on bass, The Imposters move from clipped rockers to slow-burn ballads, revisiting early cuts from My Aim Is True, This Year’s Model and Armed Forces alongside later chapters like Imperial Bedroom and The Boy Named If.
Charlie Sexton adds a lithe, melodic guitar voice shaped by years on the road and in the studio, bringing a different grain to the arrangements. His exchanges with Costello open up the songs, sharpening the edges of staples such as Watching the Detectives, Alison or Pump It Up, while leaving space for newer tracks and deep catalogue turns.
