Loose Ends return to The Jam House, Birmingham on Thursday 11 June 2026 for a night of smooth UK soul and R&B. Formed in London around Carl McIntosh, Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol, the group emerged in the early 1980s with supple grooves, melodic hooks and a post‑disco sheen. Their breakthrough “Hangin’ on a String (Contemplating)” made chart history as the first Billboard R&B No.1 by an Afro‑British group, followed by club and radio staples like “Magic Touch” and “Slow Down,” which also reached the top of the US R&B chart while making noise in the UK.

Through the 1990s, Linda Carriere and Sunay Suleyman stepped in alongside McIntosh, who continues to front Loose Ends on guitar and vocals while shaping the band’s sound in the studio. On stage they revisit favourites from “A Little Spice” and “So Where Are You?” through “Zagora,” with “Choose Me (Rescue Me),” “Emergency (Dial 999),” “Hangin’ on a String” and “Slow Down” never far from the set. Expect tight keys, warm harmonies and basslines built for the dancefloor, delivered up close at The Jam House in Birmingham.
