The Toronto five-piece leans into melodic, high-tempo indie rock, where bright, interlocking guitars nod to J-rock, bass lines drive the pulse and vocals stay upfront. Their lyrics tap into daily life, friendships and early adult doubt, with a pop culture streak shaped by video games and anime. After a run of concise EPs (Good Kid, Good Kid 2, Good Kid 3), the band broadened the dynamics on their 2024 debut album Can We Hang Out Sometime?, recorded with John Congleton, while keeping the instant melodic bite. On stage, expect tight shifts in tempo, quick hooks and a participatory spirit built for singalongs.
Sharing the bill, Brisbane’s Last Dinosaurs thread jangling, melodic guitars through brisk indie-pop rhythms, with clear new wave and J-pop shades. Formed by Sean Caskey and joined by his brother Lachlan and bassist Michael Sloane, the trio has honed a writing that pairs clean guitar figures and prominent bass lines with direct, compact structures. From the Back from the Dead EP to the albums In a Million Years, Wellness, Yumeno Garden and From Mexico with Love, they’ve shaped an agile sound that translates live into danceable grooves and airy textures without losing edge.
