8:30 PM: Les Wampas
Les Wampas are a French alternative rock and punk rock band from the Paris region. Formed in 1983, the group has long revolved around singer Didier Wampas, who also worked as an electrician for the RATP before retiring in early 2012. The band's lineup, which has evolved considerably since their beginnings, currently includes Jean-Michel Lejoux (bass, formerly of Satellites), Effello (guitar), Nicolas Schauer (drums) and Tony Truant (guitar, formerly of the Dogs). A new album was released on February 6, forty years after their first album, Tutti Frutti.
10:00 PM: Sex Pistols
In the summer of 2024, Frank Carter became the singer of the Sex Pistols. During three charity concerts at Bush Hall, the band reformed on stage with Steve Jones (guitar), Paul Cook (drums) and Glen Matlock (bass). Now billed as Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, they have performed in Australia, Japan, at European festivals and for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall. Their return to the 100 Club in London confirmed this lineup.
Louis, Glen Matlock's son, suggested Frank Carter. As soon as Paul Cook launched into the drum intro of "Holidays in the Sun," it was clear: it was how it had been, and how it was meant to be, he says. Carter's association with the Pistols began when he was a teenager in Watford, secretly listening to the vinyl of Never Mind the Bollocks. When he emerged with Gallows in the 2000s, Carter embodied the punk spirit. That energy now fuels his partnership with Jones, Cook and Matlock.
