Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at the Circolo Arci Bellezza in Milan, Jay-Jay Johanson performs — the Swedish singer-songwriter who since the 1990s has woven together trip hop, electronic pop and jazz inflections, led by a crooner-like voice with a melancholic timbre. With his debut Whiskey (1996) he defined a dimly lit sound of slow rhythms, electronic textures and cinematic atmospheres; Tattoo (1998) and Poison (2000) consolidated an even more intimate, downtempo signature. In the following years he pushed further into electronic music with Antenna (2002), Rush (2005) and The Long Term Physical Effects Are Not Yet Known (2007), while maintaining narrative songwriting and measured arrangements. Later releases — Self-Portrait (2009), Spellbound (2011), Opium (2015), Bury the Hatchet (2017) and Kings Cross (2019) — broadened his catalogue without altering his artistic imprint.
