Autechre

Autechre bring their live set to Alcatraz in Milan on 11 October 2026. The English duo of Sean Booth and Rob Brown explores the edges of techno and electronica, sculpting rhythm and texture in the moment. On stage they favour immersion over spectacle: near-darkness, no distractions, a dense, shifting field of sound that keeps the focus on detail.

Since early releases on Warp Records, from Incunabula and Amber to Tri Repetae and Confield, the pair has built a language of brittle beats, vaporous pads and machine-like grooves. Later works like the extended NTS Sessions and the twin albums SIGN and PLUS expanded that vocabulary, moving between harmonic drift and sharp, percussive lattices. Live, they recombine this material with fresh sequences, letting patterns splinter and reassemble, testing dynamics and space.

The performance centres on micro-variations, asymmetrical pulses and textures that bloom then fade. In Milan, their music appears in its most direct form, carried by the room and the system, with the duo guiding an immersive journey through their evolving sound world at Alcatraz.
